چکیده

The dimension-six CP-conserving SU L (2) × U Y (1) invariant operators involving the tau lepton are studied. It leads to the new physics effects to the lepton flavor violation (LFV) and lepton flavor-changing neutral current (FCNC). With the available experimental data on the decays Z → τ + + τ − , Z → µ + + µ − and µ − → e − + γ, the constraints on parameters of the effective lagrangian can be given. According to such constraints, the branching ratio of the decay Z → µ ± + τ ∓ could reach to 10 −6 − 10 −7. The size of the LFV effects depends crucially on the dynamics of the lepton mass generation. Assuming the lepton mass matrices in the form of a Fritzsch ansatz, we point out that the experiment on µ → eγ will put stronger limits on the anomalous magnitic and electric dipole moments of the tau lepton than obtained by Escribano and Massó.

Tau Electroweak Couplings

We review world-average measurements of the tau lepton electroweak couplings, in both decay (including Michel parameters) and in production (Z → ττ and W → τ−ντ ). We review the searches for anomalous weak and EM dipole couplings. Finally, we present the status of several other tau lepton studies: searches for lepton flavor violating decays, neutrino oscillations, and tau neutrino mass limits.

Radiative Tau Lepton Pair Production as a Probe of Anomalous Electromagnetic Couplings of the Tau

We calculate the squared matrix element for the process ee → ττγ allowing for anomalous magnetic and electric dipole moments at the ττγ vertex. No interferences are neglected and no approximations of light fermion masses are made. We show that anomalous moments affect not only the cross section, but also the shape of the photon energy and angular distributions. We also demonstrate that in the c...

Muon Anomalous Magnetic Moment and Lepton Flavor Violation

A non-universal interaction, which involves only the third family leptons induces lepton flavor violating couplings and contributes to the anomalous magnetic moment of muon. In this paper, we study the effects of non-universal interaction on muon (g-2) and rare decay τ → μγ by using an effective lagrangian technique, and a phenomenological Z ′ model where Z ′ couples only to the third family le...

Implications of the muon anomalous magnetic moment and Higgs-mediated flavor changing neutral currents

In the light of the recent measurement of the muon anmalous magnetic moment aμ by the Muon (g − 2) Collaboration, we examine the contribution to aμ from the exchange of flavor changing scalars. Assuming that the heavier generations have larger flavor changing couplings, we obtain a bound on μ−τ Yukawa coupling for a given scalar mass. Constraints on other flavor changing/conserving couplings ar...

Bounds on the Tau Magnetic Moments: Standard Model and Beyond

We obtain new bounds for the magnetic dipole moments of the tau lepton. These limits on the magnetic couplings of the tau to the electroweak gauge bosons (γ,W,Z) are set in a model independent way using the most general effective Lagrangian with the SU(2)L ⊗ U(1)Y symmetry. Comparison with data from the most precise experiments at high energies shows that the present limits are more stringent t...
